Are you considering buying a motorhome? If so, you know that it can be a large investment, and you want to enter into this purchase educated. Our staff at Greenwood RV Rentals and Sales is here to help and answer all your questions when you visit us on the lot. But it’s still a good idea to come up with some features you want before you shop so you get everything you envisioned and don’t forget anything. Let us help you plan before you shop with these four features to consider when shopping for an RV.

Bedrooms

Think about what kind of traveler you are. Are you someone that is going to travel alone? Maybe you have a large family or group of friends that travels with you. Or maybe it’s just you and your partner out on the road together. Figure out how many people are going to be sleeping in your motorhome, and choose beds accordingly. You’ll also need to think about privacy. Do you need more than one enclosed bedroom? Sofa beds are also another great feature because they can be used for seating during the day and converted at night.

Bathrooms

In an RV, nothing is a given. You might think that a bathroom with a door is a no-brainer, but it’s possible that your toilet is out in the open. So think about what kind of privacy you need and who will be using your facilities. Also, sometimes bathrooms are only accessible through the bedroom, and that can be uncomfortable if you have guests staying with you instead of family. Finally, are you someone that can get by with just the basics? Or do you want a more luxurious, like-home, bathroom?

RV Features

Heating and Cooling

When you’re on vacation, you want to be comfortable. You can equip your RV with a few things that will make temperature control a little easier. First, insulation; it doesn’t come standard with all RV’s, but you can add it to keep it warm and to reduce outside noise. Second, double pane windows can help keep the cold out. And finally, an electric heater or air conditioner will add comfort.

Storage

Many motorhomes come with sliding storage trays in the “basement”. Take the time to think about how much baggage comes with your crew. If you’re traveling alone or with just a partner, you might not need much extra space. But if the whole family is hitching a ride, extra storage is never a bad idea.
